It’s the month of celebrating our beautiful women! Women are superheroes, they take care of their families and stand by their husband’s side, protector to their children. We celebrate women’s month to remind ourselves of the accomplishments of women throughout the years to our culture and society. Sometimes we often overlook our heroes and they deserve to be reminded of how much we love them.

My mom is my hero, every year I’m reminded of all the investments and sacrifices she installed in me. I can proudly say that I am today because of my mom’s encouragement and careful nurture.

We shouldn’t just celebrate women in August, but it should be a continues reminder to us that woman deserves to be celebrated every day!

Most of my family are staying back in Gqeberha, although I’m staying in Johannesburg, I still call my mom and my sisters to ask for advice when I’m unsure of something or when I get stuck, and I’d like to express the amounts and care I received, is why I celebrate woman this month.

How can we continuously show our appreciation to women? Well firstly we need to show continued respect to our ladies and as guys, we need to be the generation that can be gentlemen. It doesn’t have to be having to buy gifts to show your appreciation. You can also simply in your day to life, show your appreciation.

These are seven things you can do throughout the year:

• Support Female Entrepreneurs
• Read Books By Female Authors
• Listen to Podcasts
• Get to Know Women in Politics
• Brush Up on Current Issues & Take Action
• Write an appreciation note
• Support a Women’s Nonprofit Organization.

This women’s month I’ve decided to do more than just mere words. Actions always speak louder than words, therefore as part of August month, I have decided to run a competition in which two lucky female readers will stand a chance of winning their very own watch. Both watches have been imported in collaboration with Chronomate, who is a local entrepreneur and has provided the watches for this free giveaway!
